I have lived in the beautiful hills of Madison County since 2010. I feel fortunate to call this extraordinary place my home!

One of my biggest life passions has been working with children. From a young age, I began babysitting and camp counseling. I then decided to make the education of children my career and graduated college from SUNY New Paltz in upstate NY with a degree in elementary education. Since then I have taught in a variety of environments and teaching methodologies, including Reggio Emila, Montessori, and Waldorf.

My teaching style is one of listening to the student. I love to find the things that children are excited about and expand their learning through their own natural curiosities. Being with children in the forest is one of my favorite ways of teaching. There are so many things to explore that can pique the inquisitive nature of us all, young and old. I also love reading and storytelling. I feel like children are natural storytellers and I believe that listening to stories will wake up our imaginations and allow us to embark on journeys near and far!

I was fortunate to teach at Woodson Branch during the first year that it opened in 2016 as a Kindergarten teacher. Since then I have had the pleasure of homeschooling my daughter and helping to facilitate enrichment programs in the community like our homeschooling theater group "The Appalachian Actors." For the last three years, I have had the unique experience of virtually teaching children English to Chinese students.

Now I am excited to bring my excitement, experience, and passions to the after-school program at WBNS! I will look forward to meeting, playing, and learning with your child!
