After School Program
We are excited to welcome you and your child(ren) to our nature-based after-school program held on the campus of Woodson Branch Nature School.
OPEN TO ALL K - 8TH GRADERS
MONDAY - THURSDAY
3:15 PM - 5:00 PM
We will follow the WBNS calendar for opening & closures (see calendar attached to your enrollment email)
$100/WEEK OR $30/DAY
with a $5 fee for late pickups.
Enrollment form and tuition are required in advance monthly, and forms are sent home one week from the end of each month, to be returned before the next month begins.
Refund Policy: Payment is forwarded in the event of program cancellations; no money is refunded in the event that your child cannot attend. Please call ahead if your child is going to be absent on a day that they are expected; we will be worried if a student is missing!
ANYTIME BEFORE 5 PM
WBNS students can simply stay after school. We meet in the clubhouse! If you are picking up earlier than 5:00, or if you are running late, please call us on our cell phones and we will be sure your child is up near the parking lot waiting!
WHAT TO EXPECT
A HEALTHY SNACK
This will mostly be fruit, veggies, granola bars, pretzels, cheese/crackers, etc. You can send your child a snack if desired. Please indicate any allergies when you fill out the registration form.
**WBNS is a peanut-free campus**
WHAT TO BRING
Some minimal outdoor gear is required to ensure the comfort and safety of students. Please feel free to leave gear on campus, or send it to school each day.
“There is no such thing as bad weather; only bad clothing!”
Provide fresh water each day.
Flip-flops or open-toed sandals are not allowed on the campus at WBNS. Crocs or sandals with holes are fine, as long as the toe is covered. In wet or cold weather, sneakers are okay but rubber boots or Bogs are preferred.
WATERPROOF RAIN JACKET
This item is the most important. Please be sure the jacket is waterproof & not just water-resistant. Send this every day, or leave on campus; rain can be unpredictable.
LAYERS & WARM CLOTHES
Please pack a small bag of clothes
(Socks ~ T-shirt ~ Warm Shirt ~ Pants) that can stay on campus in case your child gets wet or cold.
Warning / Disclaimer:
Due to the “nature” of this program…. There are inherent risks and dangers associated with the great outdoors. We will be playing in the forest & on the farm, and might encounter stinging insects, venomous snakes, poison ivy, briars, and thorns, sprained ankles, bumps/bruises, cuts/scrapes. Counselors are CPR & 1st Aid-trained, and will be ready should any accidents or incidents occur. Parents will be contacted immediately in the event of a serious injury.
Students will be educated the first week on our safety protocol & outdoor boundaries. We all do our best to stay safe, but accidents can happen. Students & parents must be ready for anything! Also: please be ready for your child to hop in the car muddy, wet, and tired!
