From Garden to Table: Growing Food and Community at MCCLC
Food is more than nourishment—it's a way to grow connection, responsibility, and hope. At MCCLC, our food and farm initiatives aren’t just about agriculture; they’re about community care.
Our learning gardens and farm programs give kids the chance to dig in—literally. They grow vegetables from seed, learn the science of compost, cook meals together, and donate fresh produce to local food pantries. Our plant start giveaways help families begin their own gardens at home, and we partner with local food banks to prepare soups and snacks using our harvests.
In every step, students build a sense of agency and connection. They see the direct impact of their work as food grows and is shared with neighbors. And they gain lifelong skills that support food sovereignty, sustainability, and health.
From garden to table, MCCLC is nurturing a new generation of food stewards—one seed at a time.
