Kati Puglisi

Admissions Manager & After-School Lead Teacher

Education & Experience:

20 Years of first-hand experience working with children in a variety of settings, mostly experiential learning in nature. My real education began after public school, when I finally began a life of learning through doing. Learning to farm on organic gardens in Australia & America, learning how to make herbal medicine in the forests of WNC, and learning more about teaching at Woodson Branch Nature School on a vast 30 acres of pristine playground! I have been working at WBNS since 2016, wearing many different hats, and I am still learning every day, always a student, passionate about leading learners through the fascinating world around us.

Teaching Philosophy:

Whenever possible, I allow my students’ curiosity and inspiration to guide our explorations. I seek to instill in them a connection to the natural world, and a desire to protect and steward the earth.

Favorite thing about kids:

I love the joy, excitement, and wonder that children bring to the world around them.

Favorite thing about working at MCCLC / WBNS:

We are so lucky to be surrounded by 30 acres with creeks, woods, and abundant gardens! WBNS has always been a community hub, and since Hurricane Helene has grown into a vital resource for Madison County
