Kayte Spangler
K-2nd Team Teacher
Education & Experience:
With a lifelong passion for working with children, I've dedicated nearly three decades to nurturing young minds. My journey began with babysitting and nannying as a teenager, laying the foundation for a career in Early Childhood Education. I earned my teaching certificate and degree from Colorado Mountain College, while working as a children's snowboard instructor and later foreman of the childcare program at Vail Resorts. Over the past 20 years, I've taught in diverse preschool settings, including Head Start, private, and public schools. Most recently, I served as Assistant Director at ARTLAB J, a Detroit-based nonprofit art and dance studio. After moving to Madison County in spring 2023, I'm now in my third year teaching Kindergarten at Woodson Branch Nature School.
Teaching Philosophy:
I believe that all students are unique and need a teacher that caters to their individual needs in a safe and stimulating environment. I want to create a classroom where students can flourish and explore to reach their full potential. I want to create a warm, loving environment where students feel safe to take risks and express themselves.
Favorite thing about kids:
EVERYTHING! Their energy, their eagerness and their excitement.
Favorite thing about working at MCCLC / WBNS:
That my workplace is a little slice of heaven!
