Leslee Moore

K-2nd Team Teacher

Education & Experience:

Leslee was a resource education specialist park ranger for the National Park Service for 8 years at Capitol Reef NP in UT, Great Smoky Mountains NP in TN and Big South Fork NRRA in KY. Then, she followed her love for teaching preschoolers and kindergartners by completing her Montessori teacher certification. For the last 15 years she has worked as a lead teacher and assistant in Montessori schools in NC, TN, OR and TX. During that time she also combined her love for nature and Montessori by creating a new nature preschool at Ijams Nature Center in TN where she was the founder, lead teacher and administrator.

Teaching Philosophy:

The best teachers remain teachable.

Favorite thing about kids:

I love their desire for independence, creativity, and sense of wonder. It’s a gift to be a part of connecting children back to nature and nurturing their positive impact on this planet.

Favorite thing about working at MCCLC / WBNS:

I’m very excited to be working at WBNS because of how inclusive the community, land and environment has been.
